Rising star of south to visit the west

Offensive tackle David Yankey (6-5, 280, 5.0) from Roswell (Ga.) Centennial is a fast rising prospect who has seen his offers rise to nine, including two from Pac 10 schools. Yankey hopes to visit the two Pac 10 schools during the summer.
Yankey has offers on the table from ECU, Duke, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Wake Forest, Florida, Tennessee, Stanford and UCLA.

"I'm pretty sure I'm coming to California this summer to check out UCLA and Stanford," Yankey said. "It is about 80 percent sure."
"The only thing I know about UCLA and Stanford is they are really good schools," Yankey said. "They play in the Pac 10 and play a lot of good football."
"I was born in Australia so I guess if I play out in California, I'll be playing closer to home."
Believe it or not, Yankey first learned about the game of American Football by playing Play Station. Then he saw the junior team play and tried out the very next year and the rest is as they say history.
Obviously, Yankey took to the game pretty well because now he is a highly recruited football player.
In the weight room, Yankey currently benches 275, squats an impressive 450, power cleans 265. He has recorded a 30.5 vertical jump.
The scouting report on Yankey is he has good footwork, quick feet, flexible hips, plays fast and stays on his blocks. He is also an outstanding technician in pass protection blocking.
What is Yankey looking for in a college?
"I am definitely looking for a school that is good in both, football and academics," Yankey said. "I am also looking for a place where I am a good fit. Even though you are winning and you're not happy, what's the point in going?"
"The thing I like about the west coast is the culture is a lot more like Sydney (Yankey's hometown in Australia)."
