Rising soph. talks SEC offers

Even though he's just a rising sophomore, 2016 Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson defensive back Khalil Ladler already has an offer list that some 2014 prospects envy.
The latest school to offer Ladler is Ole Miss, joining the likes of Alabama, Georgia and several others.

"I like a program that's on the rise like they are," Ladler said of the Rebels. "I heard about their recruiting class last year and they had a pretty good season, too."
Ladler's older brother Kenny is heading into his senior season at Vanderbilt, where he has been a standout in the Commodores secondary since arriving on campus. The younger Ladler said his brother is helping navigate the recruiting process, while also nudging him toward Nashville.
"He tells me to pick which ever school fits me," Ladler said. "He wants Vanderbilt but he wants me to pick the school that's right for me."
He added that Vanderbilt continues to be one of the most aggressive schools recruiting him.
"They're going to try to get me because Kenny is there," he said. "They've been talking to me a lot, especially when I go up there to visit. The last time I was there was Super Saturday and it went well. They showed us a lot of stuff and the campus is nice."
One of the other schools on Ladler's radar is Georgia. The Bulldogs are close to home, which might play a role in his recruitment.
"I was glad when they offered because they're close to home," Ladler said. "They have a good, successful program. Their players have been doing well and getting to the draft and there are a lot of draft picks that end up coming out of the program."
Ladler, who was one of the top underclassmen performers at the Rivals Camp Series presented by Under Armour stop in Atlanta, doesn't plan to take any visits in the near future. He said he'll focus on spring practice but will likely camp at Georgia and a few other schools.
