Rising SoCal star lands huge new offer

Two-way standout, Ezell Ruffin (6-1, 200, 4.4) from Long Beach (Calif.) Wilson has really seen his stock rise since November. He even committed to San Diego State last week.
"I sat down with my family and we finally made the decision for me to attend San Diego State University," Ruffin said. "I felt this would be the best situation for me to excel academically and a great football fit.

"This decision was based on comparing various school programs, graduation rates, great coaching staffs, and finally my recruiting trips," Ruffin said. "I really enjoyed being in San Diego the atmosphere was totally awesome. I also enjoyed being with all the coaches and the players it felt like an extended family. I am also excited to be playing with my Mayfair Junior High school friend Joshua Gavert.
"I was also thrilled about the plans Coach Al Borges and Coach Brady Hoke have for me," Ruffin said. "I am determined to work hard and compete at a higher level, so I can contribute to the Aztecs football program. San Diego State was the first schools that contacted us and believe in me.
"The plan for me to become a part of the special teams, and play receiver had me pumped up. The whole San Diego environment and the weather were factors I considered, along with not being too far away from home. I think the recruiting class coming in this year to San Diego State will be a big injection into the program."
Though Ruffin is still very committed to San Diego State, things have been become a little complicated with the arrival of an offer from Nebraska just last night by Marvin Sanders. Nebraska is one of the hottest programs going right now with their outstanding play in the Big 12 Championship game and their convincing Holiday Bowl victory over Arizona.
The family is currently mulling over this offer.
