Rising Louisiana QB ready for visits

One of the underrated prospects in the New Orleans (La.) area is Newman
High School quarterback

Damion Carter.
Carter (6-2, 185, 4.5) has seen his stock rise with a senior season which
saw him pass for more than 1,800 yards, rush for 500 and account for 33
total touchdowns in guiding his team to a 10-3 season. He was named the
district offensive player of the year and earned a spot on the All-Metro
team.
"I have offers from West Virginia and, I think, Southern Miss now," he
said. "I don't have it official from them, but they told my coach they were
going to offer and I'm going down there for an official visit this weekend.
I'm hoping they do. They've got a nice program, almost always in the Top 25
or close, and it's pretty close to home. I think I could have a chance for
some early playing time there. It would be a good fit for me."
Carter will also visit Louisiana Tech (1/10), Stanford (1/17), West
Virginia (TBA) and Vanderbilt (TBA).
