Rising Georgia QB has SEC interest

One of the emerging names on the summer camp circuit this summer was Georgia's

Richardson.
The 6-foot-5, 205-pound quarterback went from a relatively
obscure prospect to one of the rising seniors in the South with eye-opening
performances at Auburn, Tennessee and Georgia.
Since those camps, more schools have taken notice of the
Marietta Lassiter signal caller.
"I got a letter from Georgia last week that was real
impressive," Richardson said. "I think they're going to be recruiting me a lot
more once our season gets started. I was definitely glad to hear from them
because I've been a Dawg fan almost all my life."
Other teams showing the most interest of late include
Auburn, Tennessee and Kentucky.
"I'm real interested in Auburn," said Richardson, who
camped there twice this summer. "I love the facilities. The new weight room is
awesome. The campus is really nice, and I really enjoyed my time around their
coaching staff.
"Tennessee is about the same. I like their facilities and
the coaching staff. They've got great tradition and have always had good
quarterbacks.
"Kentucky has been sending me stuff since the middle of
summer, and I really didn't know a whole lot about them, but I'm interested to
see what they're like. I know they pass the ball a lot."
Richardson said he'd also like to hear more from LSU and
Miami. "Those are just two programs I've always liked," he said.
This will be Richardson's first year as a starter for
Lassiter. The strong-armed lefty could put up big numbers in a spread offense
that features four to five receivers on the field at most times, and a coach who
would like to throw the ball up to 40 times a game.
An excellent all-around athlete, Richardson also plays for
the Lassiter basketball team, averaging 10 points and nine rebounds.
