Rising Behemoth to Visit South Bend

One of the fastest rising offensive line prospects on the west coast is Adam Speer (6-3, 275, 4.9) from West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade. Speer a nice showing at the Nike camp held at Stanford in early May. He has been working extremely hard on improving his skills and his stock is rising with every bead of sweat.
Speer brings a lot to the table due to his versatility. A two-way standout Speer plays offensive and defensive tackle. He plays the all important left tackle position for Chaminade, but he probably projects as an offensive center or guard on the D-I level.

Some schools like him as a defender and are recruiting him for his defensive skills. His stats will give you the reason why. Speer racked up 88 tackles, ten tackles for loss and four sacks as a junior.
As impressive as Speer is on defense, the majority of schools like him as an offensive player. His long snapping skill only enhances his recruitment.
“Adam is a very polished pass blocker for a high school player,” Chaminade head coach Ben McEnroe said. “Most of the time kids are better drive blockers on the high school but Adam excels at both.”
“Adam has long arms and quick feet,” McEnroe said. “And he knows how to use them both.”
“I may have seen Adam run a 5-flat once,” McEnroe said “He runs a legit 4.9.”
Speer will soon be hitting the road and will camp at Notre Dame. He wants to attend other camps but he wants to make sure that his camp experiences won’t interfere with his high school team’s commitments.
Obviously Speer is very team oriented and possesses outstanding leadership skills.
As previously noted Speer is a hard worker. He has improved his bench to 375, squat 525 and his clean to 325. Speer also recorded a 26-inch vertical and ran a 4.4 pro agility at the Nike camp.
Notre Dame, Boston College, USC, UCLA, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Fresno State and Boise State are all schools that are showing Speer interest at this time.
