Riley impressed with Big East visit

St. Petersburg (Fla.) Lakewood defensive end Julian Riley seemed to like just about everything about his official visit to Pittsburgh this past weekend.
“It was great,” Riley said. “The atmosphere there was good, and the coaching staff was great. They treated me and my family real nice. The players were great.”

Riley was especially impressed with his host for the weekend.
“I spent the whole weekend with (star wide receiver) Larry Fitzgerald,” Riley said. “That was awesome.”
The 6-foot-4, 260-pound Riley lists the Panthers among his top four, along with Wisconsin, Florida and Boston College, claiming no favorite.
Next up on Riley’s schedule is a trip to Boston College next weekend.
“Yeah, they stand a good chance,” Riley said of the Eagles. “They were the first school to offer me and they’ve been with me since the start. I’ll go up there and see how I like it.”
Florida will get Riley’s fifth and final visit on the weekend of Jan. 24. He previously took trips to Purdue (Dec. 6) and Wisconsin (Dec. 13).
Once one of Riley’s favorites, Ohio State, has dropped out of the running.
“I haven’t heard from them much,” Riley said.
Riley is rated by Rivals.com as a three-star prospect and as the nation’s No. 19 strong-side defensive end.
