Riggins sees opportunity at OSU
Hamilton, Ohio, class of 2016 cornerback A'shon Riggins is a talented athlete stuck between two sports, but this past weekend he got a chance to see how he could impact at the college football level.
"I just visited Ohio State this past weekend for their game against UC," Riggins said. "It was fun and a great atmosphere. The fans were rowdy and I liked that.

"I am really interested in them and I think I could come up and help them out a lot. Their secondary struggled against UC this weekend and I think I could make an impact."
The 6-foot, 162-pound Riggins worked out with Ohio State defensive backs coach Kerry Coombs at the Buckeye's camp this past summer. He only had a chance to say a quick "hello," to Coombs during pre-game warm-ups, but has received visits at his school in the past from the Ohio State staffer.
The next school Riggins is aiming to visit is Virginia. The Cavaliers are among several programs that have shown strong interest in Riggins since Sept. 1.
"Virginia has invited me down to a game, so has Indiana," Riggins said. "UConn has been sending me a bunch of mail and so has Minnesota. Florida State has been sending me stuff.
"I talk to Eastern Michigan's Coach (Todd) Frakes a bunch. We talk every week before our games."
Riggins college decision is not just about what school to attend, but what sport to play. He is also a stand out point guard on his high school basketball team, and the decision on whether to pursue football or basketball at the next level still weighs on his mind.
"I haven't (decided) yet," Riggins said. "This summer during my AAU (season) I had a pretty good weekend at one tournament and I had gotten a lot of interest from Wright State, Belmont, Ball State and the University of Dayton. That kept the (basketball) door open for me."
On the football field, Riggins had to miss the first three games of the season due to injury. He has now returned and his playing both quarterback and cornerback for Hamilton High.
