D.J. Riggins might have committed to Hawaii, but that does not mean his recruitment is over.
The three-star all-purpose back from Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian said numerous Pac-12 schools are still recruiting him and he's definitely interested in taking some visits.
"Since I committed most of the Mountain West schools have backed off because if I'm going anywhere in the Mountain West, it's definitely going to be Hawaii," Riggins said. "I kind of left it open for the Pac-12 schools to come in and everything and they're coming in hard. I just talked to Oregon State and I called UCLA and most of them are coming down to my school to talk to me once their season is over. I'm pretty sure once the highest-recruited kids start committing some schools will jump on me.
"I'm looking for them to come after their season is over and they're going to come talk to me."
The three-star standout said Oregon State, UCLA and Colorado are the main Pac-12 programs involved in his recruitment. Cal has backed off and it doesn't look like the Golden Bears are pursuing Riggins at this point.
Oaks Christian's season just ended so once things settle a little bit and programs figure out their situations at running back then Riggins will look at some official trips.
"I'm going to schedule one definitely for San Jose State and I've talked to Colorado about setting one up," Riggins said. "I'm still open. I just want to see what's going on, but for the most part I really like Hawaii. They're not doing so well, but I feel like it's great for me going to that program and helping them out."
