Riep talks recent offers

Cincinnati (Ohio) Colerain 2017 cornerback Amir Riep moved into the Rivals250 this week after an impressive junior season. Colleges have also taken increased notice.

Since the end of his junior season, Riep has added offers from Iowa, Iowa State and Tennessee. The offer from Iowa was his most recent and came through just last week.
"I noticed them when they played Michigan State," Riep said. "I noticed the DB (Desmond King) making plays and how he also plays special teams. That's what I do: I play corner and return punts also. It showed me that they develop their DB's, so it really stood out to me him winning (the Thorpe) award."
Prior to Iowa, Riep landed an offer from the new staff at Iowa State. New Cyclone's head coach Matt Campbell and his staff had previously offered him when they were at Toledo.
"I knew who they were, and also the Illinois recruiter (Alex Golesh) got sent over there and I knew him," Riep said. "I will most definitely be looking into (Iowa State)."
The offer from Tennessee was right near the end of his junior season, coming through for Riep on Nov. 10.
"That was out of the blue," Riep said. "Actually, when I went down to a Kentucky game they played Tennessee, so I saw both Tennessee and Kentucky, but I was really focused on UK, being on their side."
The recent offers have pushed Riep into double-digit offer territory. At this stage of the process, though, he lists no favorites and is wide open to all schools.
"I am looking at all the schools that have offered," Riep said. "I talk to all of them the same."
The 6-foot, 180-pound Riep finished his junior season with 55 total tackles and seven interceptions from his cornerback position. He also returned 20 punts for 221 yards, including a 54-yard touchdown return.
