Ricks TE getting solid looks

One brother Greg, a Stanford grad, starts for the San Francisco 49ers as a tight end. Another brother Mike kicked and punted for the University of Houston and caught on with the Oakland Raiders for a little while. Both Mike and Greg first played their college ball at Ricks Junior College in Rexburg, Idaho. The same can be said of the next brother in the line, Jon Clark.
Clark, is a 6-foot-5, 215-pound sophomore pass receiving tight end at Ricks that is lighting up the junior college ranks with his play so far this season.

Clark, a native of Centreville, Utah, has caught 37 passes for seven touchdowns.
Stanford, Houston and Idaho have been calling on a regular basis. Texas Tech and Utah have kept in contact through his college coach.
Ricks, the top junior college program in the country over the last 20 years in numbers of wins, is giving up football next season as the school moves to four-year university status. The new name of the school will be BYU of Idaho.
“It’s kind of sad,” Clark said. “There have been a lot of great players come through over the years. I think a lot of the people around town are starting to see that they’re going to miss the program. Our stadium only seats, like 4,500 people, but we had one game this year where 6,000 people showed up.”
Clark says the team is determined to make Ricks’ last year also its finest one.
“We’re going after the national championship, no doubt,” he said. “We’re 6-0 and we just need to keep playing hard.”
