Ricks DT has impressive offers

Junior college recruiting can be fun to watch transpire. Oftentimes recruits won’t have a clue where they’re going to end up playing until just a month or two before they actually sign a letter of intent. That may very well be the case with Ricks Junior College defensive lineman Carl Tuitavuki.
Until Monday night, Tuitavuke figured he would end up at Arizona State, San Jose State or Kansas State.

But on Monday, a school he had wanted to hear from all along finally placed a call.
“I talked to USC for the first time tonight,” Tuitavuki said. “I want to go back to California if I can, and I want to play at a big school. USC would be as close to perfect as it gets.”
Of course, USC, with its first call coming from assistant coach Keith Uperesa, has yet to offer a scholarship. Meanwhile, Kansas State, Arizona State and SJSU have tendered scholarship offers.
Arizona State even has an official visit lined up for Nov. 10.
Tuitavuki is originally from American Samoa. He played only one year of high school ball at San Leandro, Calif. before signing with Ricks.
Tuitavuki expects to be a December graduate and will have three years to play two. He is 6-foot-4, 320 pounds and has run as fast as a 4.9-second 40-yard dash.
Ricks is 7-0 this season and ranked the nation’s No. 1 junior college team by some polls.
