Class of 2015 Memphis (Tenn.) University School offensive tackle Drew Richmond and 2013 UCLA signee Christian Morris have what Richmond calls a "brother-like" relationship. So when the Bruins offered over the weekend, Richmond was thrilled.
"I have a chance to be like one of the greatest Jonathan Ogden," I think they can compete for the Granddaddy of them all, the Rose Bowl."
Richmond said he and Morris have already be in touch since the offer was extended and the lure of California is also something that will weigh heavy on his mind. Morris was a Rivals250 offensive lineman also from the Memphis area, which is how the two became friends.
If all goes according to plan, Richmond said he'll visit the Bruins next summer. With most of his summer already planned and the fall season around the corner, it wasn't feasible to plan a trip this offseason.
Richmond does have some other trips coming up.
"Georgia for sure on July 12 and then I may swing to Clemson," Richmond said. "Then maybe Alabama on July 14-15."
Richmond also recently added an offer Wake Forest, where his former teammate, linebacker Ford Howell signed in February.
"I have a teammate there," Richmond said. "We'll see if they can win this year."
