Leesburg (Ga.) Lee County quarterback D'Vontrey Richardson is one of the top athletes in the Peach State. A varsity starter at quarterback since his freshman year, Richardson was an all-state selection his junior season.
The 6-foot-1, 210 pound Richardson passed for 1738 yards and rushed for 1132 last season. Richardson connected for 11 touchdowns through the air and ran for another 14.
Richardson is mainly a dropback quarterback who will run from the pocket when needed and gains plenty of yards on draw plays too.
"Some teams are recruiting me as an athlete," Richardson said. "Some as a quarterback and if I don't make it there I could play somewhere else."
Asked who has offered a scholarship, Richardson said, "Clemson, Louisville, Troy, Georgia, Wake Forest, Alabama, Alabama-Birmingham, South Carolina, LSU, Oklahoma, Florida State, Ball State, that's all I can think of right now.
"I really don't know who I'm most interested in yet. When baseball is over I'll think about it more.
"I don't have any favorites. I'm going to take official visits. Clemson and Georgia will probably be two of them."
