Richardson has a top five

Westerville (Ohio) Central offensive lineman Nick Richardson had a busy month of June visiting college programs. The four-star prospect came off that tour with five schools standing out atop his list.
Richardson's father, Clete, shared with on Sunday that Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan State, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt currently constitute his son's top five schools.
"We're not quite sure how it is going to pan out in the end, but those are his five as he was saying them to me and mom when we were coming back from Kentucky the other day," Clete Richardson said.
Kentucky is the school Richardson most recently visited. He made a visit with his mother to Lexington earlier in the process, then was able to return at the end of last week with both parents.
"He loves Kentucky, loves Coach [Mark] Stoops and that whole group," his father said.
Richardson also made a visit to Indiana in recent weeks. That was the third time he had seen the Hoosiers' campus in-person and he was accompanied by his mother on the most recent trip.
"He stayed overnight on campus with those kids and had a great visit there," Clete Richardson said. "He loves Indiana. We had a great visit and he loves Coach [Greg] Frey."
The most recent addition to Richardson's offer list among his top five is Vanderbilt. Commodore coaches James Franklin and Herb Hand offered the Ohio native when he visited for their camp earlier in June.
"He is smitten with Coach Franklin down at Vanderbilt. Coach Franklin is off-the-top great," Richardson's father said. "We had an absolutely wonderful visit down there. What a campus and what a school."
A trip to Michigan State was also tentatively planned for last week, but that had to be postponed. Visiting East Lansing is among Richardson's higher priorities.
"He has not really done a visit to Michigan State, and that is one of his highlight schools. Michigan State is way high on the list," Clete Richardson said. "We're not sure when [a visit] is going to happen because they are on vacation now and that's why they had to cancel it."
Richardson has also never made a visit down to Ole Miss and does not have one scheduled in the immediate future. He initially wanted to make his decision before the start of his senior season, but with a desire to still visit several schools his father said he is encouraging Nick to consider taking official visits in the fall.
