Richard lands another major offer

Demario Richard had heard some chatter that Oregon could be close to offering him and that proved to be true recently when the Palmdale, Calif., running back got word from his coach that the Ducks offer came through.
The 5-foot-10, 200-pound standout has picked up some major offers recently and this is another big-time one to consider.

"It's pretty big," Richard said. "It's pretty big because I found out that the rumor is true that they were going to offer me.
"It was just a rumor I heard and then (Monday) my coach told me they called and I have an offer from them. At first, I didn't want to show the excitement in front of my teammates so I got home and I just went crazy. Wow, that was crazy to get.
"It's an up-tempo offense and my offense in high school is up-tempo so it fits me really well."
Oregon is being seriously considered by Richard but a commitment to any school does not seem close.
The Palmdale recruit said many other programs are showing interest so he doesn't want to rush a decision this early before his senior season.
"I'm not considering committing at all," Richard said.
"I'm still holding off. Oregon is a top choice but I'm not dropping anything yet and I still want to enjoy the recruiting process."
So far, Richard has been offered by Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Nebraska, Oregon, San Diego State, Tennessee, UCLA and Utah.
One reason for not making a pledge yet is that Richard is hearing from a bunch of high-end programs that might be next in line to offer.
"My coach is starting to get a lot of calls in from Arkansas, Wisconsin, Florida, Texas A&M, Alabama, Missouri, Boise State is starting to come in a lot, too and Washington and Washington State," Richard said.
