Marietta (Ga.) Wheeler running back Richard Rich has been a tough man to get in touch with these days. He has picked up offers from numerous major schools since February and his recruiting is more open than ever before.

“I haven’t really picked up any new offers lately or anything, it is still pretty much the same schools that had offered,” Rich said. “There are some new schools showing me a lot of interest like Miami and Florida State has really been talking to me a lot lately.”
The 5-foot-9, 175-pound Rich ran an impressive 4.44 second 40-yard dash at the Atlanta NIKE combine.
“I went to the Clemson-Georgia Tech game earlier this year and that was cool,” Rich said. “I am going to the Miami-NC State game for my official visit to NC State on October 23. As of right now I don’t have any of my other official visits set up.”
As a junior Rich carried the ball 196 times for 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns with an average of 7.6 yards per carry.
“Miami has finally started showing me some interest,” Rich said. “They told me that I am the No. 4 back on their board right now and they just want to see what some other guys do. Florida State has started recruiting me a lot too. They told me that they were going to take a look at my senior film this upcoming week.”
Rich is ranked as the No. 11 running back in the nation and the No. 14 player in the Peach State by Rivals.com.
“I really don’t have any favorites right now,” Rich said. “All the schools I am looking at are pretty much on equal ground. I am just open and listening to everyone right now.”
