Rice Jr. drawing national interest

Chicago Morgan Park defensive back prospect Melvin Rice Jr. (5-foot-11, 185 pounds) has been burning things up on the indoor track this off season, and the mailbox has also been heating up for this Rivals100.com early Top 100 national prospect as well.
“We just won the Chicago Public League indoor track title,” Melvin Rice Jr. said. “We really wanted to win that title, and now we're getting ready for the outdoor track season, and we're looking to win a state title in track as well."

"Things have really picked up for me mail-wise. I'm getting a lot of hand-written letters from Nebraska, Iowa, Tennessee, Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Illinois, Kansas and Kansas State as well."
Rice Jr., who has already made a junior day visit to Northwestern, is also planning on checking out a few spring practices as well in a few weeks. "I'm going to check out a spring practice at Illinois, and I might also see if I can get to a few more schools as well."
Does Melvin Rice Jr. have any current favorites? "Not really, not at this point just yet. I'm just going to wait and see how things shake out before I start listing any favorites."
