Rice gets a QB

New Rice football coach David Bailiff has found his quarterback in the class of 2007. Rivals.com received word Tuesday evening that Round Rock, Texas, quarterback Brent Hotard had committed to Rice on Tuesday evening, turning down several other D-IAA offers to get a chance to play for the Owls.
"I'm excited," Hotard said.

"I'm excited because I have verbally committed to Rice University today."
Hotard, who is6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, played a key role in an amazing season for the Dragons.
He played huge role in helping Round Rock beat A&M Consolidated in the first-round of the Texas state playoffs with three touchdown passes. He also had a big game against Allen later in the playoffs, along with earning all-district honors as a senior.
