Rice cooks up a commit
Galena Park, Texas, offensive lineman Jose Barcenas has made his commitment public. The 6-4, 290-pound honor roll student will play for Rice University next season.
"He's been a pleasure to coach and is a terrific student," Galena Park coach Mike Coker said. "He was a big part of our season."

The Yellow Jackets finished undefeated before losing in the second round of the playoffs. It was their first winning season and playoff appearance in decades.
Barcenas also plays for Galena Park's basketball team.
The only Galena Park athlete yet to make his college decision is running back Chris Hardy, who rushed for over 1,000 yards the past two seasons.
Hardy is be recruited by UTEP, North Texas, Sam Houston and Stephen F. Austin, among others. Chancellor Roberson and Desmon Jackson have both committed to the University of Louisana-Lafayette.
