Rice commit looking for impact

The Rice Owls completely turned their program around this year with an impressive 7-5 season. Now they look to make a splash in the recruiting game.
Rashad Robinson of McKinney (Tex.) North high school has already committed to Rice and now looks to make his own splash next year for the Owls.

"They said they see me coming in and making a big impact and I have a chance to start my first year," Robinson said.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Robinson said Rice is looking for him to try on a couple of positions, but the coaches are recruiting him mainly as an outside linebacker.
"I believe so, but I think they want to use me as a defensive end too as a pass rusher on third downs and passing situations," Robinson said.
He has also already made the trip to check out the Rice campus and came away very impressed.
"I went on a visit to Rice during December," Robinson said. "They have great facilities. The coaches are great and the players are cool too. The food was great. I loved that. The hotel was nice. Everything was top of the line. I got to hang out with some of the players and get a feel for how they felt about their school."
Robinson also had a chance to watch the New Orleans Bowl to see Rice play Troy. Despite the loss Robinson still felt very positive about the game.
"That game they didn't really play too well, but I think about it and those weren't really coach Graham's players," Robinson said. "But the main thing was that they had the chance to go to that bowl game."
Robinson managed to finish his high school career in style taking home a nice award after the season.
"I got first-team all-district unanimous decision," Robinson said.
Robinson already has the ability and the destination for where he wants to make his splash in college football.
