Texarkana (Texas) Texas High linebacker Anthony Rhone has been a mainstay in the Tiger defense the last two years and college programs have taken notice.
He currently holds one offer, but others are showing interest.
"SMU, they've offered me already. A lot of them want me to come to their camps so they can see me in person," Rhone said.
"[Tuesday] Oklahoma State came by and wants me to come to their camp. Mississippi State also. A Baylor coach came by but I wasn't there. I think he talked to my dad."
The camp season is shaping up to be an important time for Rhone, and he has a few camps in mind at this point.
"I plan on going to an LSU camp and I'm going to try and attend an Oklahoma State camp also and possibly an Arkansas camp," Rhone said.
In addition to the camps he will also be pretty busy with baseball. Football is where he is receiving the most recruiting attention but he will be playing on a select team this summer and also has a pretty big camp coming up.
"I'm actually going to an Area Code camp coming up pretty soon for the Texas Rangers," Rhone said. "I can play anywhere on the field but last year I played catcher. I think they might move me to third. I have people who catch behind me and I think they may need me at third more than catcher since we had a lot of people graduate."
Back on the football front it appears North Texas and SFA could be close to joining SMU. As for a decision, he is taking his time at the moment.
"I like SMU a lot but I'm still looking at all my options also," Rhone said. "I'm not sure when I'll be ready to make the decision. After the offers come through I'll decide then."
