Reynaud talks about IU visit

Three-star Boutte (La.) Hahnville wide receiver Darius Reynaud gave high marks to the Hoosiers after making an official visit with Indiana this weekend.
“It went great,” he said. “I was tired the first day because we had a playoff game on Friday night, and I didn’t get up there until 3 in the morning. But it was fun. I went to a basketball game, got to meet the head coach and talk to him for a long time, and hung out with the players. My host was Jarvis Green, one of their running backs. He was a nice guy. They treated me like I was already part of the team. I liked that. I also liked the business school up there and their academic support people.”

And what about the conversations with IU coach Gerry DiNardo?
“He said I was the type of athlete that they needed to get their program where it needs to be,” Reynaud said. “They want wide receivers who can run and jump like me.”
Reynaud (5-10, 185, 4.4) projects as a wideout. As a junior, he caught 17 passes for 494 yards. He stepped into the tailback's role this season and has rushed for more than 1,600 yards and 34 touchdowns in leading Hahnville (14-0) to the state championship game.
“I had 233 yards and three touchdowns on Friday night,” he added.
He has yet to schedule any more official visits, but plans to do so when the playoffs are completed. Michigan State, LSU, Colorado and Oregon State are the other schools being considered.
“I don’t have a favorite,” Reynaud said. “I’m open right now. But Indiana was really nice.”
