Revis makes a decision

Two star football star and three-star basketball wiz, Aliquippa (Pa.) native Darrelle Revis, took his first official visit over the weekend and was so impressed he didn’t feel the need to take any others. He traveled just up the road to Pittsburgh and left with his pledge to wear the Panthers’ uniform next season.
“It’s a good school, and only right down the road about 30 miles,” he commented on his reasons for his decision. “It was home, and where I wanted to be.” He had a visit planned to Kansas next month, but decided to cancel the trip.

“They asked me what position I wanted to play, but I said I didn’t care,” he said. “They have been recruiting me as a cornerback, though.” Revis will sign scholarship papers to play football and will also be a member of the hoops squad as a walk-on.
Revis stands 6-foot-0, weighs 170 pounds, and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds. The No. 25 prospect in Penn. led his team to the state championship last week while having the game of his life.
“I scored five touchdowns and had six tackles, an interception, and a forced fumble,” he explained. “It was crazy.” He ended the season with 529 yards rushing and five touchdowns, 18 receptions for 300 yards and four touchdowns, and also completed six passes for 225 yards and two scores.
He had six kickoff returns for 178 yards and a touchdown and 12 punt returns for a score to bring his all-purpose yards 1,637. He also added nine takeaways for 210 yards and a score.
Revis maintains a 2.8 GPA, and is waiting on the results from his most recent SAT attempt.
