Renfrow down to Clemson, App. State

During the week of the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas versatile Myrtle Beach (S.C.) Socastee athlete Hunter Renfrow turned his share of heads with his willingness to go over the middle and make tough catches.
That's why several schools are still after the 5-foot-11, 168 pound playmaker, including Appalachian State, but a bigger school is still hoping they can talk Renfrow into earning a way onto the roster.

"I have a preferred walk-on offer from Clemson," Renfrow said. "So that's something I'm really considering right now."
If he were to enroll at Clemson and try to earn a spot on the squad, he'd be passing on offers from schools like Furman, Wofford, Charleston Southern, Gardner-Webb and Presbyterian.
Before he makes his decision he'll take official visits to Clemson and Appalachian State.
"I'm taking my visit to App. State on Jan. 17 and then going to Clemson Jan. 24," he said. "I think my family just wants me to go to where I want to be and where I would go if I wasn't going to play football."
Renfrow has been on an unofficial visit to both schools in the past, and he took an extended trip to Appalachian State back in the fall.
"I went up there for the Charleston Southern game," he said. "I got there early and spent some time with the coaches and I really liked what I saw and the coaches."
As far as a decision timeline, Renfrow said he's hoping to know by late January.
"I think I'll decide after I take those trips," he said.
