Renfro follows the family way

The process finally came to an end for one of the Lone Star state's top receivers and it was a father like son story from the beginning.
Southlake (Texas) Carroll receiver Clint Renfro verbally committed to TCU, where his father played college ball prior to his NFL career.

"I committed to TCU and it took a little longer than I planned because I wanted analyze the track programs of the schools I was interested in," he said. "People think I'm going to TCU because my dad went. My parents actually like Stanford the most.
"I hit it off with the track coach from the start and Coach (Gary) Patterson is very open to me running track. He knows how important it is to me."
It came down to Stanford, Missouri, Texas Tech and Baylor for Renfro, who finished second in state last year in the 400-meters hurdles to Jamaal Charles (Texas). He has also been a part of back-to-back state championships for Southlake Carroll.
"It was great to win state and I had a pretty good year," he said. "My state weren't great because of my preseason collar bone injury. Sometimes I was used as a decoy."
Renfro will report to Fort Worth, Texas, this summer and his expectations for his freshman year is to redshirt.
"Nothing in set in stone yet, but I'll probably redshirt and put on a few pounds. I'll run track my freshman spring."
