How it happened: Jefferson worked his way into the rotation as a true freshman with the Trojans, starting one game and finishing the year with 12 tackles. After looking like he was poised to be a major player going forward, he appeared in just one game in 2016 before he was sidelined with injuries and academic issues and then left the team. After initially planning to transfer to Arizona, Jefferson landed in JUCO before committing to the Rebels late last month.

Original school: Georgia (2016)

New school: Louisiana-Lafayette

How it happened: Manac was a Rivals100 prospect back in 2016 and was considered a major get for Georgia. But once he arrived on campus at UGA he struggled to climb the depth chart while working at both linebacker and defensive end. He transferred to junior college prior to the start of the 2017 season and will have three years of eligibility with the Cajuns.

Original school: Auburn (2016)

New school: Louisville

How it happened: Character had a complicated recruitment as a high school prospect, first committing to South Carolina before flipping to Auburn. But his time with the Tigers was short-lived, and he left the team after a redshirt season in 2016. He landed in the JUCO ranks and once again committed to South Carolina, only to have the Gamecocks go in another direction just prior to the Early Signing Period. Character now lands at Louisville, where he will have three years of eligibility.

Original school: LSU (2016)

New school: Louisiana Tech

How it happened: Allen came into LSU with much fanfare but his career with the Tigers never got off the ground. He redshirted his first year on campus and by the time that season was over, he was already looking for a new home. After being blocked from transferring to TCU, he instead went to junior college, where he played one season. Now Allen is headed back to his home state with three years of eligibility.

Original school: Florida State (2015)

New school: Mississippi State

How it happened: It's been a long, winding road for Kilby-Lane to get back to major college football after seeing playing time as a true freshman in 2015. He missed the entire 2016 season due to academics and left the Seminoles in early 2017. He landed in junior college, where he spent the 2017 season. He committed to the Bulldogs in December, and signed with the school during the early signing period.
