Five-star K.J. Henry considered schools like Virginia Tech, Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama but he ended up choosing Clemson, the school that offered him first. The Clemmons (N.C.) West Forsyth defensive end has a number of connections to the school and has visited countless times but the relationships and trust he has with the coaches, players, and recruits helped him decide that Clemson was the place for him.

IN HIS OWN WORDS…

"My relationships at Clemson are big," Henry said at the Shrine Bowl. "Over the years and going to camps the coaches have built relationships with my family and me before the recruiting process even started. The team is doing big things and doing them the right way. The opportunity (for playing time) there is looking good as well."

RIVALS' REACTION…

Henry has the build and skillset that college coaches look for in a prototypical defensive end. He has great length, balance, and a frame that has plenty of room to added good weight. Henry's high football IQ and work ethic should help him seen the field early in his career and help carry on the tradition of strong Clemson defensive linemen.
