Reggie Holmes – Emerging Star

First it was only the home state (and nationally ranked) Terrapins of Maryland who had offered Reggie Holmes a scholarship. But now teams from across the country are joining in the race.
Holmes, a 6-foot-2, 235-pound inside linebacker from Bowie, Mary., has attracted scholarship offers from Syracuse, Michigan State, Tennessee and Georgia Tech in recent months. LSU has even gotten into the picture and, according to Reggie, “they’re waiting on my tape”.

Holmes has emerged as one of the top five prospects in the state. He has more than 90 tackles as a senior with a few games still to go in the season. He had 83 stops a year ago.
Holmes says he thinks colleges have noticed progress in his abilities.
“I’ve always been a good athlete,” Holmes explained. “But I’m smarter now, I’m playing smarter. I’ve also gotten bigger and stronger.”
Holmes has yet to schedule any official visits but hopes to do that by the end of his high school season. Maryland, because of their early push for him and their outstanding season, looks to have the early edge, but Holmes did not mention a favorite among his choices.
