Reeves switches commitment

Duluth, Ga. running back Kennard Reeves committed to East Carolina back in December. Rumors have surfaced that the 6-foot-0, 181-pounder had opened things back up and was considering an offer from Vanderbilt. Is there any truth to the rumors?
"I actually just decided to switch my commitment to Vanderbilt," he said. "I chose them because they play in the SEC and a degree from Vanderbilt can carry me a long way even if I don't have football.

"Besides, Vandy was my first choice originally, but then they didn't have another spot available. Just a bit ago they did and I was the first player they came to and decided to accept. I really like the coaches a lot there too. They are all really straight forward and honest. They are the kind of coaches that push you hard, but also have love for you."
Reeves told Commodore coaches Bobby Johnson, Kenny Carter and Ted Cain his decision early tonight.
"They were all really excited about my decision and told me I have to be ready to play because their starting running back tore his ACL," he said. "I've been working out real hard and plan to continue to do that with a couple NFL guys at my trainer's gym. It really should help me a lot because I'm doing one on one drills with them."
The two-star prospect finished his senior season with 1,070 yards of offense and 12 touchdowns.
"I really appreciate that Vanderbilt never forgot about me," he said. "I know the coaches could have called someone else when things opened up, but they called me and that's great."
