Reese finalizes announcement plans

Farmington, Mich., three-star linebacker David Reese ended an eight-month commitment to Michigan earlier this month. The 6-foot-1, 238-pound linebacker is an early enrollee, however, and will be headed to college in a matter of weeks. Four schools received official visits from Reese, and he will announce which school he has chosen to attend later this week.

WHAT'S NEXT: Reese's announcement will take place this Friday at 2 p.m. ET. He just returned from his fourth and final official visit this past weekend to Texas. Previous official visits were taken to Nebraska (Nov. 6), Florida (Nov. 27) and TCU (Dec. 4). All four schools are finalists and will have hats on the table when Reese makes his announcement this Friday.
IN HIS WORDS: "Texas visit went great. Within a very short time I built a very strong relationship with Coach Strong and the defensive staff. The facilities are beautiful, the campus is nice an they have the No. 1 Accounting program in the country."
RIVALS' REACTION: The de-commitment from Michigan was not surprising, but there is a case for each of these four schools being the choice on Friday. Florida and TCU both offer early playing time, which appeals to him. Nebraska is recruiting several of his close friends, including former teammate Desmond Fitzpatrick. Then, Texas' head coach Charlie Strong really impressed the family when he was in-home last week. Florida head coach Jim McElwain was able to get the last in-home Sunday night. Was that enough to earn Reese's commitment? It is a tight battle coming down the stretch.
