Reed still excited about pick

Great Bend, Kan., running back Jeremy Reed was a nice recruiting victory for Kansas State when he pledged earlier this summer.
The three-star running back that is ranked as the state's No. 4 player had scholarship offers from Kansas and Purdue also when he committed. He said he's still sky high on the Cats and remains a solid commitment.

"Tim McCarty called me the other day and asked how I was doing," Reed said. "He asked if I was coming up for this Saturday's game. I told him, I wouldn't miss it for the word, and I went down there this past weekend."
"I'm 100 percent positive on my commitment. I'm really glad I'm going there. I really like the coaching staff, and I feel good about Manhattan. I like the crowd and the atmosphere. I can't wait to get up there."
Reed said he's been impressed with the Wildcats' early start.
"I thought they were awesome," Reed, who is 5-foot-11 and 205 pounds, said. "That first game was a little close. It was really crazy, but I really enjoyed going up there and watching it. They do pretty much the same stuff we do on offense."
"I really liked it. I thought it was awesome. It was my first college game to go to other than Oklahoma, so I was impressed with everything about the setting."
Reed said he's doing his part to help K-State reel in some other talented recruits. He said the Wildcats have a lot of positives to sell recruits on.
"I love the coaches," Reed said. "The facilities are really nice. Also they are building a lot of new stuff on this stadium for the players and stuff. I hope to play early, but wherever they want me that's fine. I'm playing college football, so it doesn't really matter."
