Reed returns from Texas to new offer

This past weekend, Texas held a huge Junior Day in which it brought in some of the top prospects from Texas and surrounding areas. That junior day has already resulted in 10 big commitments for the Longhorns. One player that the Texas staff will have to wait on is Thibodaux, La. wide receiver Trovon Reed. Reed received an offer at the event but is not quite ready to make any decisions.
Due to basketball and other obligations, Reed came up to Austin from Thibodaux a day early and essentially had the Longhorn staff to himself.

"I got the offer and had fun," Reed said of the visit. "It was nice. I had to come down early because I had to come all the way back to Thibodaux so I had mine on Saturday. It was nice. It was cool."
Reed certainly has an interest in Texas but is not ready to name anyone as favorites at this point.
"Everybody is equal on my list but I'm going to have to start narrowing it down sooner or later," he said.
Before he narrows things down, Reed will have to address new options that emerge every day. Most recently, Tennessee came to Reed with an offer.
"I got it Sunday," Reed said of the Tennessee offer. "I liked it. I was surprised, but I like it. I had never really looked at Tennessee. Growing up, I heard about them but this is the first time ever hearing from them. I never got a letter or anything so I just got a surprise."
The rest of Reed's schedule for the spring is still up in the air. In the past, Reed has been active on the camp circuit getting his name out and competing and dominating against the best players he could find. With offers pouring in and his name already out there, it would seem that Reed has all the excuse he needs to slow things down.
"I'm gonna still work it," he said. "It doesn't make no sense to relax now."
Before he gets back on the football field, Reed has to finish up his basketball season where his team is sitting comfortably at 23-4.
