With his senior season complete, TE Rakim Reed of Canton (Oh.) Timken Senior took an unofficial visit last weekend. While he is holding a few other offers, and several other schools are showing serious interest, that unofficial visit left such a favorable impression that a commitment may be quickly approaching.
"I have the same offers," said Reed, referring to his offers from Pittsburgh, Marshall and Buffalo. "West Virginia and UConn have been sending me letters to come to games, but I haven't done that yet. Last weekend I went and visited Marshall."
While the visit was unofficial, it may lead to bigger things for Reed.
"I will be going on my official in January," said Reed. "The visit was great. I liked it. The coaches seem real cool and very interested in me. I like that they run the spread offense."
When asked if he is considering any other official visits, Reed's answer led to his current leader.
"No, not right now," said Reed, who is 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds. "I'm liking Marshall a lot."
He also mentioned that a final decision may be coming sooner than later.
"I don't know when yet, but probably soon though," said Reed.
