Reed looking for more offers

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - Not many football prospects hail from California's wine country but Napa Vintage defensive end Markeis Reed is certainly an exception.
The lean 6-foot-5, 210-pound defender has offers from a trio of programs at the moment.

"I have offers from Iowa State, San Diego State and Colorado State," Reid said. "They all came in April and May."
The first school to recruit Reed came out of the blue as they do not have geographical ties to the area and were not contacted by him. However, he is certainly grateful for the attention.
"Iowa State was the first to contact me but they took a little while to evaluate me," he said. "On the last day of school they offered me. I honestly don't know how they found out about me though. I never sent them film or anything."
Reed could be close to several more offers from some West Coast programs but they would all like to see a little more of him first.
"I've been talking to Pac-12 schools," he said. "They've mainly been talking to me about coming to camps. They want to see me in person before they take it to the next level and offer me."
Reed has camped at three Pac-12 schools so far this summer. Though no offers came from the camps, they could come in the fall.
"I went to UW, Stanford and USC," he said. "They all told me they're going to wait until the season and see me in my first few games and they they're going to decide on whether to offer me.
"I don't have any other camps scheduled right now. I just got back from USC. I went to Stanford last week and Washington the week before that."
As far as favorites, Reed says he has not even started to formulate a list, although he plans to set up official visits to Oregon, UCLA and USC.
"Not really, no," he said as to having favorites. "I want to wait a little longer and see what offers I get."
