Reed is one of the Islands best

Kailua (Hawaii) Kalaheo linebacker Shawn Reed is rated among the top 10 players on the Islands this year. The talented athlete is hearing from a host of schools and will be a player to watch this Spring.
Reed, 6-1, 215 pounds is a two time all-league selection and had a very solid junior season. The 'backer totaled 113 tackles in just eight games as a junior and is rated the No. 7 player in Hawaii by IslandAthlete.com.

On the recruiting front, Reed is still waiting for his first scholarship offer but is being heavily recruited at this time.
"The schools showing the most interest right now are Auburn, Alabama, Connecticut, Washington, Colorado, Boise State, Princeton, Yale, and Hawaii," Reed said. "There are a few others but these schools are the most consistent.
"They have all invited me to camp with them and have also been very consistent in sending out letters to me. I'm not sure what camps I'll be going to this spring and summer. Being from Hawaii, we don't get as much exposure as other players so I'm going to do all I can to get my name out there."
Reed will attend one of the NIKE Camps this Spring but is unsure of the rest of his camp plans at the moment.
