THE LATEST: Reed currently holds scholarship offers from Boise State, Colorado State, Houston, Illinois, North Texas, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and Tulsa. In addition to his offers, Oklahoma and Texas A&M are two schools who have shown a lot of interest. He has taken unofficial visits to Texas for the Rice game and he just returned from an unofficial visit to Oklahoma State.
IN HIS WORDS: On his weekend visit to Oklahoma State: "I really like Oklahoma State. I like the coaches. Coach Adkins, I love being around him. He's really cool to be around. I didn't get a chance to talk to coach Gundy because he had a lot going on. Coach Arroyo, I talked to him for a few minutes and he came down it was either last week or two weeks ago and saw me. But whenever I talk to coach Adkins, he definitely makes you feel wanted. He tells you that he wants you and he makes you feel at home. He just wants you there. That means a lot. A coach that wants you that bad, it almost makes you want to go there."
On the 2015 season: "This season has been going really well. It's definitely been a turnaround season. Last year we went 4-6 and missed the playoffs. That wasn't our first time missing the playoffs. Cy-Creek has not been to the playoffs in a few years. But this year we've been doing really well. We started off 0-2 and since then we've been on a six game winning streak which makes us 6-1 in district and 0-1 out district. So we've been doing pretty well. I think if we win this next one coming up we clinch a playoff spot so that will be a really big deal for Cy-Creek football."
On recovering from his knee injury which kept him sidelined in 2014: "Well, it motivated me because going into my sophomore season I already had a Boise State offer. After my injury it seemed like a lot of schools kind of slept on me a little bit. Like they kind of overlooked me. They were just like he has a knee injury and he's out for the season so it seemed like they were ignoring me a little bit. So that just added fuel to the fire and made me work really, really hard this offseason. Because I see all these guys getting all these big offers and stuff and it just motivates me to get better because I don't want anyone thinking this knee injury is a big deal. I'm recovered and everything is fine."
RIVALS' REACTION: Reed does not claim any current leaders when it comes to the recruiting process. He had some great things to say about Oklahoma State and the Cowboys' coaching staff, so it would be safe to say they have laid a strong foundation. He is also the cousin of Cedric Reed, who played at Texas. The two are pretty close and when Cedric was at Texas he was able to get to know the program and he was a fan of the Longhorns. He currently does not clam to be a fan of any school.
