Monroeville (Pa.) Gateway defensive end Jordan Stevens took his third official visit of the season to Miami (Ohio) last weekend. Despite not taking in a game, the 6-foot-3, 226-pounder really enjoyed his trip and gave the RedHawks visit a perfect 10.
"The visit was really nice and I loved the coaching staff and they are doing great things with the facilities," he said. "I got there Friday and went out to eat and hung out with my host Otto Linwood. He was a great guy and just like my friends back home.
"Then on Saturday my family and I watched a practice and went to the team meetings. I liked what they do on defense because it's very similar to what we do in high school and that means I can adjust quicker. My family and I also took a tour of campus and went to an academic session. On Sunday, I talked to coach Montgomery and he told me how great an academic school Miami is, information on the team and the fact that I have a good chance of playing early."
Where does Miami (Ohio) stand for the three-star prospect?
"They are still up there with Indiana, but I'm not sure who I like more yet," he said. "I'd say this visit was a little better because I didn't actually get to see a game and that's what I wanted. I just wanted to sit in and see how they practice instead."
Stevens mentioned he's considering taking officials to Michigan State and Illinois, but it seems more likely he'll be officially announcing a decision on Tuesday.
"I think I sort of know who I want to decide on, but I've got to finalize things before I make a decision."
