Redd sees major early interest

Jaylon Redd has already landed three offers and the 2017 athlete from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., said all the schools are recruiting him for defensive back but could use him in different ways.
Redd is the quintessential athlete who could be used on offense, defense or special teams and Redd doesn't necessarily have a preference. He just wants to get on the field early.

"UCLA is recruiting me as a defensive back but they know I can do other things so that's even a bonus," Redd said. "Colorado and Arizona State are also recruiting me to play DB and they know I can do several things so they're recruiting me as everything right now.
"Wherever I can touch the field is where I'll play. If I can start as a freshman at any position then that's fine with me."
The 5-foot-9, 170-pound prospect has the offers from Arizona State, Colorado and UCLA and there is also plenty of interest coming in for Redd, who looked good at cornerback last weekend at the King of the IE 7on7 Tournament.
He recently attended the USC Junior Day and had an excellent time. The Trojans made it clear they're interested.
"They're recruiting me and they'll definitely be back up to my school in the near future," Redd said. "They're going to come to my spring practices. I liked it. I like the USC family. I like the campus and I like how the coaches are recruiting me."
Notre Dame, Oregon, Oregon State and Washington are also getting involved with the 2017 prospect. With all the early attention, Redd said there are no frontrunners at this point.
"I'm still just weighing all my options," Redd said.
