Redd returns from first trip

Elizabethton, Tenn. defensive end Vincent Redd took his first official visit this past weekend. So how did it go?
"I had a good time," said the 6-foot-7, 240-pounder of his trip to Virginia. "They really beat up on Maryland and I got to see how I'd fit in their defense."

Redd is being recruited by the Cavaliers as a linebacker.
"That's kind of cool because I've never seen a 6-foot-7 linebacker so I start a new trend," he said. "They also said I could play basketball there and they have a great basketball program."
Redd was hosted by running back Alvin Pearman on his visit and got to speak to many coaches and players.
"I talked with Angelo Crowell a bit," he said. "He told me about the coaches and defense a bit."
Next up for Redd is an official trip to Virginia Tech (Nov. 29) and then visits to Tennessee and South Carolina. Arkansas and Ole Miss are in the mix for the last trip.
"I'm looking forward to visiting Virginia Tech and I'll have date for Tennessee and South Carolina set soon," he said. "I won't make a decision until I learn enough about each school. I want academics, academic support, early playing time if it's available and I'd like to play basketball as well."
Redd is a solid small forward prospect in baketball as well, although every school is recruiting him for football.
