Redd makes surprise choice
Elizabethton, Tenn. defensive end Vincent Redd has made a surprise commitment.
"Vincent committed to Virginia today," said his sister, Valnessha Redd. "You'll have to ask him why he picked UVA, but I know he talked about them a lot and committed. It was near the end of school when everyone knew."
Redd, a 6-foot-7, 240-pounder, had been considering Virginia, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, South Carolina and Arkansas before making his choice. He had been rumored to be a heavy lean to Tennessee.
