Red Raiders offer Tampa wide receiver

Andre Davis is one of the premier wide receiver prospects from the Sunshine State in the Class of 2011. Davis, from Tampa Jefferson High School, has some impressive scholarship offers from teams like Florida State, Miami, USF, Purdue, Florida International and Central Florida. Late last week he was offered by a big time program from the Big 12.
"Texas Tech offered on Thursday," Davis said. "I talked with the coach (Chad) Scott. They have a bunch of new coaches, a new staff. They are going to throw the ball most of the time. I have heard some great things about coach (Tommy) Tuberville. I heard he is a really good coach. They are a team that I definitely want to check out. I will probably take an official visit to see Texas Tech this fall."

Davis, 6-1 and 180 pounds, hauled in 60 passes for 1,202 yards and scoring 19 touchdowns as a junior. He also happens to be a baseball player for Jefferson and the upcoming baseball schedule could affect his spring visit schedule.
"I was supposed to go to FSU for their junior day this weekend but I had a sports banquet. I would like to go up there next weekend but I have to play baseball. I hope to get there soon."
