Recruitment heats up for Mixon

Joe Mixon has been picking up offers so fast he's not even sure what's next.
That's fine with the 2014 four-star running back from Oakley (Calif.) Freedom who has landed numerous big-time offers in the last few days alone.

To recap, the 6-foot, 180-pound recruit already has offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Boise State, Cal, Colorado, Fresno State, Houston, Idaho, Louisville, Michigan, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Utah, Washington, Washington State and Wisconsin.
Many of those came in the last few days as Mixon has been busy sending out text messages updating everyone on the latest offer.
"It's crazy," Mixon said. "It's crazy how everything is blowing up.
"I think it's working like after I got Oklahoma, Houston and Louisville jumped in the mix right after and I hadn't been hearing much from them. I'm really happy getting all these offers though."
Because things are happening so fast, it's difficult for Mixon to name any favorites - or even guess which programs will be next on his list.
Many of the offers have come as a complete surprise but Mixon, arguably the top running back at the Army National Combine in San Antonio, said he's fine with it as long as his recruitment stays busy.
"I really don't know who's going to get involved," Mixon said.
"Louisville was totally unexpected, Wisconsin came out of nowhere and everything is starting to come out of nowhere so I don't know what to expect."
A lot of offers are in but Mixon is still hoping for a few more. He is looking at UCLA, USC, Arizona, Miami, Florida, Georgia Tech and Florida State for offers and said he hopes they come through soon.
