Recruiting starts up for LB Garrow

Linebacker Ike Garrow out of Fair Lawn (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep registered an exceptional 111 tackles and two sacks last season for the Ironmen. The impressive year has resulted in the 6-foot-0, 253-pounder beginning to pick up college recruiting interest.
"He is getting a lot of mail from schools like Maryland, Virginia, Rutgers, Syracuse, Boston College and others," Don Bosco Prep assistant coach Nunzio Campanile said. "Obviously some teams are concerned about his height and I can say I don't think he'll grow much more, but if you see him play this guy is a player."

Garrow has a unique ability to play various positions at the next level.
"He could be a defensive tackle, linebacker or fullback in college," he said. "I know he'd love to be a linebacker because that is what we get him to do mostly, but he'll do whatever a coach asks of him. He is a complete team guy.
"Defensively he is our leader on the field and is a great physically tough player. Ike has a nose for the football and gets after it on every play. He could also be a very good fullback on offense because he can block and knows how to get leverage."
Besides being a solid prospect, the linebacker is a good character person too.
"Ike has a great attitude and is the guy other players look up to," he said. "He knows when to be serious and when to have fun and is very easy going in the locker room."
