Recruiting starts up for 2010 CB

2010 cornerback Rijo Walker is already gaining attention. The 5-foot-10, 171-pounder hasn't landed his first scholarship to date, but is getting interest from schools across the country.
"Most schools are just sending questionnaires to me," he said. "I'm hearing the most from Stanford, Tennessee and Pittsburgh. I'm getting stuff from a whole lot of other colleges too."

Does Walker like anybody from the get go?
"I haven't really thought about it," he said. "I want to wait it out and see who brings papers to me.
"I'm just looking for a place that is close to home, my family can come see me play. I want a place where I could potentially play fairly quickly. I want to get a good education too.
"Location is a factor for me. Probably the furthest I want to go is Tennessee and the furthest north is Pittsburgh."
Walker and his team, Hampton (Va.) Bethel just wrapped up a 7-3 season with a loss to Oscar Smith in the playoffs.
"I was more of a role player this season," he stated. "That presence over there opened up the other side of the field for my teammates. I finished with four interceptions."
