Recruiting starts for 2009 RB

Recruiting is just beginning for Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith running back Perry Jones. The 5-foot-9, 178-pounder is receiving interest from schools all over the country including the ACC, Big East, SEC and Pac-10.
"I'm not really worrying about recruiting," he said. "I do know I've gotten letters from North Carolina, Stanford, Alabama, Rutgers and more."

Jones discussed what he wants in a college.
"Like my coaches and parents have told me, I should go somewhere I'll be happy at and not just for the football team," he said. "I want a good education, football comes second. I'm thinking about going into business. I'd like to stay on the East Coast as well."
The Hampton Roads tailback grew up watching a few schools.
"I grew up liking the Florida schools, Florida, Miami, Florida State," he said. "When I was little I'd watch Peter Warrick on FSU. I don't think that would affect my recruiting. I just like the style of play on those teams."
Jones couldn't recall his statistics, but he's been an important part of Oscar Smith's undefeated record.
"The season has been real good," he said. "Our mentality is better, we want it more after falling short in years past.
"I'm doing good on offense and defense. I haven't played too much since we're winning by a lot usually by halftime. My knowledge of the game is much better and I'm reacting quicker to things."
