Recruiting rises for Killebrew

Linebacker Brandon Killebrew holds offers from Navy and Ohio. The Springdale (Md.) Flowers prospect is gaining interest from a number of other schools from the Big East, Big Ten and SEC. Is anyone else close to offering?
"I have offers from Navy and Ohio," he said. "I've also been getting interest from Michigan State, West Virginia a lot and Vanderbilt has been really interested too."

What are the schools telling him?
"They all think I'm a good football player and want me to send my senior tape to evaluate me more."
Killebrew has received game invites from Syracuse, Michigan State, West Virginia and Vanderbilt, but hasn't taken any trips yet.
"I haven't yet, I'm focused on my season and I'll take visits after our last game."
What is the two-star prospect looking for in a college?
"I'm just looking for a school that I can come in and possibly play early," he said. "I want a well-rounded education and a good degree. I also want to feel comfortable with the coaching staff. Finally, I want to see how the football team is doing and if I feel they are headed in the right direction."
So far this season Killebrew has helped his team to a 7-1 record.
"I've been having a decent year," he said. "Through six games I had 63 tackles, seven sacks and two forced fumbles.
"I think I've been becoming a better student of the game this year. I'm reading offenses and diagnosing formations. Mentally I've developed a lot this year."
