Recruiting rises for 2015 TX backer

2015 linebacker Jacoby Brooks out of Cypress (Texas) Cy-Creek has seen his interest pick up. The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder went in-depth on the latest with his season and recruitment.
"Right now I've got interest from Missouri, Utah, San Diego State, Nebraska and Texas," he said. "They are just saying how they like my range to the ball along with my speed and ability to tackle. A lot of them are starting to look into my transcripts."

Brooks hasn't taken visits this fall, but is eyeing a trip to Utah sometime soon.
Brooks is still holding out to see if his favorite team will come in.
"My favorite team is Oklahoma," he said. "I like their defense. I like how they are known for defense.
"On top of that, I'm looking for a college that has a good education system and somewhere not too far from home. I also want a lot of playing time."
The linebacker has had a big year after missing part of the season last year due to a concussion.
"I had 102 tackles, three sacks and three touchdowns on defense," he said. "I was playing much more aggressive this year then last. I got faster and stronger.
"I think I can run to the ball really fast now and I'm always around the ball. I'm really good at reading and staying on my keys. I come downhill and make plays."
