Recruiting picks up for Thompson

Olito Thompson was sure his recruitment would pick up once his latest transcripts were released and that's been the case for the Concord, Calif., three-star running back who impressed at the Oakland NIKE Camp.
San Jose State is the latest offer for the 5-foot-10, 210-pound recruit who also has Arizona, Utah and Washington State on his offer list.

"They're getting to see the new transcripts and everything," Thompson said. "It's still a little too early to name favorites because schools are still getting involved."
Thompson only went to San Jose State's camp this summer and soon landed an offer from that school and is hopeful others come in as his senior season gets underway.
Because many other programs are showing interest, the Concord standout does not want to make a decision yet.
"I'm excited," Thompson said. "I would like to see who else comes to the table and what other options I have."
UCLA, Cal, Southern Miss and Iowa State are some other programs that are showing interest in Thompson, who rushed for 3,488 yards and 34 touchdowns on 408 carries in his junior season.
Rivals.com rates Thompson as the No. 43 running back in the 2013 class and No. 70 in the California state rankings.
