Recruiting picks up for 2012 NC tackle

Though offers haven't come yet, colleges are taking a serious interest in 2012 offensive tackle Dylan Hopper. The Shelby (N.C.) Crest lineman has a variety of schools from across the East Coast taking a look.
"I've got Duke, NC State, Ohio State, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Florida State and Vanderbilt interested," he said.

With interest developing quickly, Hopper has a few schools that have caught his eye so far.
"I like Georgia Tech, NC State and Florida. I really like South Carolina too," he said. "I don't really know why, those schools just stick out in my mind."
To date, Hopper has visited Clemson for a camp and NC State earlier this season when they played Virginia Tech.
"That was a pretty good game," he said. "NC State is real serious about football, it's a real nice place to go and they have real nice facilities."
In terms of his interest, Hopper is looking for a few things in his future destination.
"I want a really good feel from the program, I want a nice weight room and a good head coach. Location doesn't really matter, I can be within a state or two."
On the field, Hopper has helped his team to a 7-3 regular season.
"We had a chance at a conference championship, but lost 29-27," he said. "I think I'm doing pretty well this year as a junior.
"I started last season, but this year I'm more aggressive and keeping my composure during the game. I come off the ball and I'm not scared to hit."
